WE'RE HOME!

We stayed at the Holiday inn, Guadalajara, and it was nice. Here's a picture of our room. The 1st night the bed slept so good, it was down hill from there.

This is on the road enroute to the airport.

This is everywhere! Lurking, Waiting!

This is Rudy, at the airport, acting like he is blind, holding out his hat for coins, and this is his family trying to act like they don't know him

This is when we first took off in the plane.

I have never been able to figure out why everything looks like it is perfectly squared off with perfectly straight lines...I guess its a God thing.

Patterns everywhere

Into the clouds...

above the clouds...beautiful !

And then the sun started to set and I could hardly breath it was so beautiful ! This was on one side of the plane ,

this was on the other.

O Lord my God, when I in Awesome wonder- consider all the things thy hands have made- I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

The plane was deathly quiet and everybody was looking out their windows .

Then we were here. It was only a 1 hour 56 minute flight, and then we had to get through customs which we did. We had to declare what we brought in and I told Rudy we needed to go ahead and tell them about our gallon or so of vanilla so they wouldn't think we trying to smuggle it into the U.S.

And then there was Yohan, my handy brother-in-law! Waiting at the gate to bring us home. We left Mexico burning up. The temp there was around 85 and it was around 28 when we got here, wow what a change. Thank you John.

And where did he take us through the fog... AMERICAN FOOD, HERE WE COME, and whats more Texan American than What-a-Burger!
We made it home!
It was a very interesting 7 days, a week that will make me think before I throw out ANYTHING!
Thank you Lord for this experience.
Ya'll have a blessed day

Look @ The Pictures...GDL Day 5

This picture was taken at the catholic hall. (I can't call it a church) This little girls daddy was playing with her and she had the sweetest smile!

Ok, Now I know my sisters won't believe it but we went to a catholic hall...NOT to worship. Rudy had 2 cousins who were being Wet, decieved, baptised and I had Rudy take the pictures because I was sick to my stomach just being there, seriously. Those poor people who do not have a cent or peso to spare, go out and get all these fancy clothes, and candles and shoes and all this junk and then go let this "man" pour a little water on them and call them saved and sealed. What a crock, and whats bad is that they all believe it!. I can't tell you how many taxi cabs we've gotten into that had all their prayer beads hanging on the mirror and their pictures of Mary on their dashes, and they think "their IN"
My heart breaks .
Before we went I listened to 2 sermons on sermon audio about how to tell a catholic the gospel, but I couldn't say anything because of the language barrier.

This is the mother to the little girl above. She was dressed like a street walker for the "ceremony" or show , as I called it . After the man poured the water on the little girl the mom had this satisfied smile on her face, she was so proud that they had done the right thing, or made the right decision... I asked the little girl if they go to church or worship in any way and she said NO only for confirmation classes. They just have to take the classes and get all dressed up and get water poured on them then they can live any way they want. So sad!

While the "show" was going on , this dog came walking through. He sniffed around a little bit, walked around up by where the man that was pouring water was then walked on out. I wanted to go with him...

Here are the two children , all baptised and headed for heaven .
On a lighter note...Here's a picture of Madellia and I making tamales , now listen here , this is hard work ! Rudy and I left before we even got 1/2 of them wrapped up , but the making the masa and the chicken stuff that goes inside was hard.

I really did give it my best shot. My arms are sore today

This is a picture of Rudy talking to his grandma. She is in her upper 80's and she still walks everywhere she goes. She has a son who still lives with her, who all the siblings want to move out because they say he takes advantage of grandma(Wella), but she won't hear of it. She still cooks and cleans for him. I think there must be 1 in every family!

Madellia does this 3 times a week. She makes the tamales to sell at the school. This is how she contributes to her family's household. She wears the thing on her head to make sure no hair gets in the food. She also makes oatmeal and puts it into little six ounce cups and sells that too. In the morning when people head out to work , she's got it all ready and they stop and buy a cup for 5 pesos right out of her kitchen.

Here's some of the familia , L to R- Rudy , His Mom- Margarita, Wella, Tia Monika, and in the back Yesenia's dad, Concepcion or Chon as they call him.

And here I am sitting here writting this...missing every other keystroke on this dumb old laptop, about ready to fly home tomorrow to my good old desktop , and my house and my daughter and Noah and all my stress and MY BEDDDD!
I can't wait.

Here's a picture of some of the christmas lights in the most religious city Ive ever seen in my life! There was a fountain with water and I put the camera really close to the water and got a piture of the lights and the reflection...Pretty huh.
We'll get on the plane around 3 , ya'll keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

DAY 4...I'm TIRED

Today was a very Happy Day for Yesenia...She graduated!

She was pleased and so were her parents. Here she is with her parents, Chon & Madellia

Here she is with Rudy's mom , her Tia Margarita. Here's the graduate with Rudy and yours truly! ( I have got to do something with this hair!)

After graduation we took the family to a really nice restaurant called Santa Coyote. Here's the entry way. This is candle wax all over the table and wall. It was really neat looking.

You eat outside . It a real nice atmosphere, It is American food. But I think Santa Coyote was an indian because as you go through the restaurant you see the indian theme.

We saw smoke and smelt cedar so we got up to go look. The waiter informed us that they were offering food to the "indian god". If you look closer you can see the food. Oh how sad. Deception everywhere.
This is part of the atmosphere.
This is Yesenia's food...shrimp wrapped in chicken. She said it was very good.
This is a pond there in the restaurant. Is this a Koi Pond? Or are these goldfish?

When we left the restaurant we passed a family of real indians, or so Rudy said...
This guy was selling cotton candy and those who know me, know I LOVE cotton candy. Rudy bought me some and I tasted it and YUCK...It was made with sugar cane, or at least thats what it tasted like. I sent it home with Madellia to give to Deniss, who likes it like that!

And last , well just LAST (no pun intended) I am hoping that there are no bodies in these but who knows? Rudy got a real kick out of this one.
Well anyway, our phones have been messed up, but mine is NOW fixed. I'm letting Rudy carry it tho cause he can't go without a phone.
Its been a good day. I'm exausted...Between the internet going down and my typo's, it's taken me 1 1/2 hour to post this.
God bless ya'll, keep us in your prayers!

Day 3 Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico

Hello (again) from Guadalajara . Today is day 3 and I'm getting pretty homesick ! I miss my kids! I talked to Matt & Whitney and I think that may have made it worse!
This 1st picture is of one of the ways people here make money...Advertising . This was really weird to me but if you can make a buck, I say go for it.

These guys are going to where ever they have their shop set up, either on the road or in a (home) store-front. I'm not sure what these things are, I think there dust pans.

I took this picture out of my 3rd floor hotel room window. This woman does NOT have any legs. She was on a skateboard, rolling around asking for money. The lady in brown went over and gave her money and I saw several cars stop and give her money. May the Lord help her! This is one of many handicapped people I've seen. I also saw a man today with no legs, crawling around
We went to a familiar place (Pizza Hut) and I found this odd...Catsup for pizza and salsa (their own brand) for pizza .The pizza was O.K., but it was not U.S.A. Pizza Hut!.
We have been buying a few items here and there, this is the guy that we bought the clever for Tim and Bonnie from. He makes them right here in his little cubby hole shop. If your reading this and you want me to get you something you better ask now!!

Rudy took this picture of this little boy statue...There are no words for this!

The cab driver called my attention to this...This, my dear friends, is a MAN... Its another blurry one cause I didn't want to take the picture dead on...Take me home country roads!

I miss you boys...and My beautiful sassy Ninya Badinya (Whitney)
