MEMORY MONDAY

This is one of my very most favorite passages. I added my take on them , which means nothing, but I thought about when I first read them, it was kinda hard to understand. So I put them in "Glenda" terms, because I'm really simple and things that are easy for some are hard for me! I can almost say these verses already, but I need to get it right, and I will after this week (hopefully)
Thank you to The Simple Wife for the idea, and if you'd like to play along.

Ephesians 2: 1-10
1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

This says that I was dead, with my daddy Adam after the fall in the garden, and HE made me alive, spiritually
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
This says that in the past, before God made me alive, I did all the things that the world does. The things that satan wanted me to do. The things that others that have NOT been made alive are doing.
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
This says that I was just like them, the others, that have not been made alive. I talked like them and I loved sin and catered to my sin, just like them
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Ahhh...I love this, BUT GOD...I didn't do it, God did. I did NOTHING to bring about this change in myself. God (the author and finisher of my faith, did it all) because He loved me

5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
When I was dead (stinkin) and unloveable, He loved me, and looked at me as a son. His grace alone saved me!

6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
He has gathered us together, covered in the righteousness of His dear Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.

7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
This is one (of many) promises of eternal life. We will live in glory and enjoy the inheritance that should only belong to the Lord Jesus.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
It is only by the grace of God that we are saved. It is not because we deserved or did this or that or made a "decision for jesus"
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Its definatly not because of something we have done, because if it were , we could say I'm saved because I...no, you cant boast, you did NOTHING!

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
This is something God has done, we have been created in the Lord Jesus and any good works we do is because of HIM. This is something that was decided on before the foundation of the world. We had NO PART in it. If you are saved GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD!

Great passage to memorize, Glenda!

How about learning Greek, Latin, Hebrew, and Arimeic? Whatever language God speaks in, though, he would not approve of the "N" word, however you might define it.

Dear Anonymous,
You may or may not read this, but Can you tell me what "N" word you are referring to. There are alot of words that start with "N".
I wish I could speak/write those languages too, unfortunatly I can't!
In Christ , color is not there, either you are a child of God or not.
Sorry you were uncomfortable on my page, so uncomfortable you had to be anonymous!
In Christ ,
Glenda

Glenda,

Way to go on memorizing 10 verses! Your personalizing Scripture encouraged me. This morning as the children and I were reading Proverbs(we each have a different version of the Bible) I was blessed by my teens version this morning, it really helped me see and understand some verses. I so want to understand and apply Truth in my life. Sweet encouragement dear one, sweet.

Thank you kindly for your dear words left on my post of my darlin' daughter at the seashore.

Blessings dear one, blessings!
Lora
