WHY DO I VOTE THE WAY THAT I DO?

Ok I got this idea from another blog, I worked on it for hour's fixing it to say what I feel led to share!

The Dictionary defines Chris·tian:
of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ or His teachings: a Christian faith.

A Christian is someone who has been born-again by God (John 3:3; John 3:7; 1 Peter 1:23) and has put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 tells us that it is “by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” A true Christian is someone who has repented of his or her sin and put faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. Their trust is not in following a religion or a set of moral codes, or a list of do’s and don’ts.

I consider myself a Christian.

The apostle Peter put it this way in I Peter 3:15 , But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
I have learned that when I stand in Divine Truth ( The B.I.B.L.E.), people are going to scoff and disagree, that being said, I believe the Bible to be complete Truth and Divinely Inspired. I show this clearly because it is the REASON for all my political opinions.

The doctrine of the inspiration of the Bible means that the Bible in the original documents is God-breathed, that it is a divine product, and, because it is divine, the original documents are inerrant.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Paul who wrote this epistle was obviously referring to the entirety of the Old Testament as being inspired. The word "inspired" is literally "God-breathed." This is an interesting phrase, since it says that the Scriptures are from the mouth of God. Peter also says in 2 Peter 1:21, "for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." Notice that Peter is saying that prophecy is not the product of human will. Instead, prophecy occurs by those moved by the Holy Spirit.


In trying to figure out what would be the most Biblical way to vote, it is obvious to me that voting Republican is the closest fit to trying to follow the standards set by the Lord Jesus . Although voting republican is not perfect, actually far from it, some of the major issues stand to support what Jesus teaches us.


Republican or Democrat?





Republican - The Red Team:

Conservative-I am VERY conservative

Family is important part of your life-Agree 100%

Opposed to abortion-Agree 100%

Married or expect to be- I support the institution of marriage for 1 man and 1 woman

Own a business or would like to-I support the right

Save, invest in the stock market-I think not being in debt is important
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Support tax cuts- Yes. Yes. Yes.

Strong support of the military-Absolutely, we need our Military!

Believe in peace through strength-I believe in Peace through Jesus

Long sentences for convicts-I believe in forgiveness and repentence

Religious faith-ABSOLUTELY YES!

Sports, particularly Nascar, baseball (? Like Apple Pie)

Against drug legalization-Yes. The less drugs this country needs the better, why do people need to be altered?

Don't swear or use profanity-I try so hard... Col 4:6 Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. !

Support for abortion

Marriage isn't important

Anti-business

Favor government financial assistance

Support tax increases

Distrust of the US military

Liberal-open-minded or tolerant, esp. free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc. For example, not bound by religion or spiritual ideals.

Support for abortion

Exodus 20:13 “You shall not murder.”

Deuteronomy 5:17 “You shall not murder.”

"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder,* and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.'

Marriage isn't important

Marriage is the most basic and significant social relationship to humankind. This relationship must be nurtured and maintained for the welfare of all. Without marriage, society will fail.

God's design for marital relationship is heterosexual, not homosexual, and monogamous, not polygamous. This relational aspect of God's image in marriage has analogues portrayed in God's relation with Israel (Isaiah 54:5;Jeremiah 31:32;Ezechial 16:8-14;Hosea 2:14-20) as well as in Christ's relation with the church (Ephesians 5:21-33; cf. 1 Corinthians 11:1-3; 2 Corinthians 11:2;Revelations 19:7-9).

Anti-business

In the Bible, business and work were structured, fair, and implemented with law.

Property would return to its original owner every fifty years (Leviticus 25:8-13). The poor were not to be overlooked in the increase of wealth (Deuteronomy 24:14-15). Wages were to be paid equitably and promptly (Deuteronomy 24:14-15). Interest was not to be charged on loans made to Israelites (Exodus 22:25;Deauteronomy 23:19-20). Moreover, collateral for loans had to be returned to poverty-stricken individuals at the end of the day, if this meant deprivation of clothing during the cool night (Exodus 22:26-27).



Favor government financial assistance

God has made the world according to a certain pattern. Work and the attitude toward work are important themes. Laziness leads to poverty and even death (Proverbs 13:4;12:11).

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!(Proverbs 6:6)


Distrust of the US military

Life is sacred in the Old Testament. Murder is a capital offense in the covenant of Genesis 9:1-7. Yet no physical life can be more important than God's redemptive purpose for the whole world.

Leviticus 18 mentions the depraved state of Canaanite society. Heinous sexual perversions were a part of their religion. Child sacrifice was also practiced. Verse 25 indicates that the land was so defiled that it vomited out its inhabitants.

It does not seem to have ever been God's purpose to slaughter all the Canaanites at once… but The Book of Joshua describes a few dramatic victories for a theological purpose.

Exodus 23:29-30, however, indicates it was God's original purpose to drive the Canaanites out "little by little" so the land would not become desolate and wild animals multiply against them. Judges 3:1-4 informs us that Canaanites were left to test the Israelites and to keep them militarily alert. What is seen in Joshua is the rapid crushing of Canaanite capability of being an offensive threat. They were militarily crippled so there would be little chance for them to gain control of Israelite society.

If Canaanites had been allowed to survive unbridled, they would have slowly and painfully killed their own selves.



Wanting peace through appeasement

In English, the word "peace" conjures up a passive picture, one showing an absence of civil disturbance or hostilities, or a personality free from internal and external strife.

The biblical concept of peace is larger than that and rests heavily on the Hebrew root slm, which means "to be complete" or "to be sound." meaning—"to be complete or whole" or "to live well."


God alone is the source of peace. The Lord came to sinful humankind to enter into a relationship with them. He established with them a covenant of peace, which was sealed with his presence Numbers 6:24-26 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Followers were given perfect peace so long as they kept their eyes on the Lord. Isaiah 26:2&3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. IIThessalonians 3:16Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord [be] with you all.)

One of the key issues among the prophets was the doctrine of "peace." The false prophets proclaimed "peace, peace" and in that announcement hoped to create peace for their constituency. The true prophets argued that peace could never be achieved apart from righteousness and justice. In this light, one can better understand what Jesus meant when he declared, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword" (Matthew 10:34). And Paul wrote, "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20). Judgment on sin, historically and eschatologically, must come prior to peace.


One cannot overlook the fact that this harmony will never happen until man has a right relationship with the Lord.

Believe in second chances for convicts

This ‘belief” is actually Biblical, as long as the individual is repentant and offers restoration.

The tension between God's dealings with human beings in terms of his mercy and righteousness finds truth in the New Testament. That the promises of forgiveness and spiritual transformation have become realities through the appearance, death, resurrection, and exaltation of Jesus Christ throughout the New Testament.

Jesus proclaimed the kingdom of God, and offered his hearers entrance into this kingdom on the condition of repentance.(And those that heard, did repent)


Jesus' offer of the kingdom to all on the condition of repentance led to the charge that he associated with tax-collectors and sinners, which his opponents considered offensive to God's righteousness (Matthew 9:10-13;11:19;Mark 2:15-17; Luke 5:30-32;7:34;15:2). The offense probably lay not in the fact that Jesus taught that God would forgive the repentant, but that Jesus actively sought out sinners and forgave them.

In Jesus' opponents' view, sinners ought to take the initiative.

Secular, religion isn't important

Well, since Jesus is the basis for everything in which I believe, this one is obviously against my belief system. I thought this passage said enough to answer this.

10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.


11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever,The plans of His heart to all generations.


12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Movies, particularly adult rated
Please read through these, As a parent, I believe PG-13 movies to be more suited for adults…adults who can make the correct choices between right and wrong and what is and isn’t entertainment. Just because "Bob & Sue" let their kids watch PG-13 doesn't mean your kids have to watch them...


These ratings have been copied from the Motion Picture Association of America

A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous.


An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures.

An NC-17 rated motion picture is one that, in the view of the Rating Board, most parents would consider patently too adult for their children 17 and under. No children will be admitted. NC-17 does not mean “obscene” or “pornographic” in the common or legal meaning of those words, and should not be construed as a negative judgment in any sense. The rating simply signals that the content is appropriate only for an adult audience. An NC-17 rating can be based on violence, sex, aberrational behavior, drug abuse or any other element that most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children.

Since I believe I can’t break non-G rated movies down to one sin, I thought the Ten Commandments would cover them all.
